Natural Dye Project-On the Loom

The natural-dyed yarn project has moved into the next stage of its journey.

I made a few minor adjustments from my original Planning post. Here are the project details:

Project:  Color Gamp Placemats 

Design inspired by the Color Gamp Sample in Season 2, Episode 8 of the Jane Stafford Online Weaving Guild.

Structure: Plain Weave

Desired Size: approximately 14" x 19", hemmed. (4 placemats)

Warp:  10/2 cotton 

• 6 natural dye colors (40 ends of each of 4 colors, 30 ends of each of 2 colors)

• natural as the divider between blocks (124 ends)

• Total warp ends 344

• Sett: 24 epi (2 ends/dent, 12 dent reed)

• Warp length: 3.25 yards

Weft: 10/2 cotton (same colors)

This is my threading.

And here is the warp on the loom.

I’ve started weaving, just a little sneak peek.
