Something New
I have exciting news! Let me introduce you to my very good friend Rosemary who has started Knitty Bags, a line of handcrafted project bags that are just the cutest things! Flora and Fiber is the exclusive online retailer for these goodies!
First, a little about Rosemary in her own words, "My love of sewing began in the 8th grade in Home Ec class. Out of that developed my fascination with all things textile. Over the years I have made my own clothes, accessories, and home decor. As a knitter, project bags have become an integral part of my "stash" and so the birth of KnittyBags naturally evolved."
And I would add, in addition to being a very talented seamstress and knitter, Rosemary is a wonderful weaver, spectacular spinner, and fantastic friend (gotta love alliteration).
The first style bag that Rosemary makes is a Drawstring Project Bag. These cute bags measure 12” tall x 10” wide x 4” deep. They are the perfect size for small projects such as scarves and socks. Currently, Rosemary is offering these bags in four different fabric/color choices. Check them all out here!
The second style is the Zipper Wedge Project Bag. These whimsical bags measure 9” tall x 9” wide x 5” deep and feature two inside pockets and a removable wrist strap held in place by a lobster claw clasp. Check out all eight of the available designs here.
Each style of bag is fully lined to stand on its own and uses only quality fabrics and notions.
But wait . . . there's more!
I am offering coordinating yarns to fill those project bags! The Summer colors are Fuchsia, Tangerine, Buttercup, Mint, and Blue Sky. These yarns are Gems Merino Wool fingering weight, a sumptuously soft yarn, yet it's hard wearing and pill-resistant! And it is machine washable and dryable. Stock up here.
I'm also offering coordinating skeins that I have hand-dyed. Here is my colorway 'Summer Rainbow' shown with three of the Summer Gems colors. The yarn base is a fingering weight blend of 75% Superwash Merino and 25% Nylon. Check out here for more colors!
I knit the To Infinity and Beyond Scarf by Joji Loccatelli using these yarns.
Yarn choices included my naturally dyed merino yarn, Gems merino yarn in Mint, and a mini skein of my hand-dyed Summer Rainbow colorway.
And I've added new naturally dyed silk scarves to my shop. Summery combinations of marigold, Saxon Blue, cochineal, and hibiscus.
Finally, Rosemary and I are participating in the Ag + Art Tour on Saturday June 23 and 24. We will have all of these goodies for sale along with demoing spinning and weaving. You can find us at the Enoree River Winery from 9 am to 5 pm on Saturday and 1 pm to 5 pm on Sunday. Here's a link to my Events Page with more information. Come out and see us!
